With a history dating back over 300 million years, dragonflies were one of the first winged insects to ever evolve. 

Although these expert fliers are efficient by nature, they are also known for their grace and majesty.  They can fly straight up and down, complete 360 degree rotations, and hover like a helicopter.  Engineers have long tried to replicate their maneuverability. Interestingly, dragonflies spend most of their lives as nymphs and spend only a few months of their lives in their final form.

The dragonfly's adaptability, elegance and power remind us take everything in stride, and to let go of anything holding us back. The dragonfly represents change and new beginnings.

The dragonfly wings used in this pendant were collected only after this magnificent insect died of natural causes.
