Silver Leaf with Birch Bark Necklace
Nature and shimmer are two of our favourite things. This pendant was created from birchbark paper, silver leaf and resin.

White birch (Betula papyrifera) trees are found all across Canada. Birchbark has a long and storied history in Canada, and the birchbark canoe has played an instrumental role in shaping the landscape of Canada. Lightweight, yet strong and impervious, Indigenous peoples utilized birchbark for various other uses ranging from shelter, to baskets, to artwork.
The birch tree symbolizes growth, renewal, and stability and the promise of what is yet to come.
All of the birchbark used in the creation of this jewellery was responsibly sourced from trees that were already fallen. It was collected from Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis. We pay our respect to the First Nations and Métis ancestors.
